Geff King
Upright bass, backing vocals. Geff was born in Baltimore and raised in Middle River, Maryland in the shadow of the Glenn L. Martin Company. He played his first gig in 1978 with a bluegrass band called Emery Ledford & the Twin River Ramblers, after which he moved on to lots of other such bands lasting form ten years to ten minutes. In 1983 Geff switched to electric bass, and continued to work with the likes of Windy Ridge, Mike Hays, the New Early Sunrise Band, Honky Tonk Confidential, and and a host of others. In between all of this he's managed to get a BA in English Lit from Towson University and a Masters' in Library Science from the University of Maryland, and to work a day job in downtown Washington DC. Geff started on guitar with CHC in 2010 and just went back to bass fiddle this year. He is always willing to pick up the doghouse bass if the food is tasty, the drinks are cold, and the price is right. Geff lives in Greenbelt, Maryland. |
